BISE Rawalpindi Board provides educational facilities to applicants of Rawalpindi region studying at secondary and higher secondary level. The board started functioning in 1977 and for the first time conduction of exams was made in 1978. It has many affiliated areas and these are Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Rawalpindi itself. The supervision of the board is the responsibility of Ministry of education. The organization of workshops and seminars to train the teachers is also made annually. BISE Rawalpindi board organized 9th class examination all over Rawalpindi region and numerous understudies appear in the exams in science and arts programs.
