FBISE ups minimum passing marks to 40% starting 2026 exams

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced a major change for its exams:
- What changed? The minimum passing marks for all subjects have been increased from 33% to 40%.
- When does it start? This new rule begins with the Annual Examinations 2026 for both 9th grade (SSC-I) and 11th grade (HSSC-I) students.
The official notification states that the FBISE made this decision after talking with the Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC). The main goals of this change are to improve the quality of education, raise academic standards, and make Pakistan’s testing rules similar to those used in other countries.
